6/28/2004 - Brian Williamson Joins Weaver and Tidwell as Tax Partner
DALLAS , Texas – Brian Williamson, formerly a tax specialist with BDO Seidman and Belew Averitt & Co., has joined Weaver and Tidwell, LLP as a tax partner, Managing Partner and CEO W.M. (Mack) Lawhon announced today. With offices in Dallas and Fort Worth, Weaver and Tidwell is ranked by Practical Accountant as the largest regional public accounting firm in the Southwest.

Williamson will develop the firm’s audit, tax and consulting services to the real estate industry and also help strengthen the construction specialty group.

“With over 25 years in public accounting, Brian brings a broad business tax background, including significant experience in real estate tax issues,’’ Lawhon said. “Brian started his career with Ernst & Young, then joined Belew Averitt, which merged into BDO Seidman in 2000. Brian’s skill set is extremely complimentary to our firm’s needs in a number of ways.’’

Williamson holds a bachelor’s of business administration degree from the University of Texas and MBA from the University of North Texas. He is a member of various professional organizations, including Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Real Estate Financial Executives Association. He also served on the executive council of University of Texas at Austin Ex-Students Association.
