2/18/2005 - Jon M. Bradley To Be Inducted Into ACU’s Sports Hall of Fame
Dallas , Texas – Jon M. Bradley, director of the Wealth Transfer Group and a tax partner at Weaver and Tidwell, LLP, will be inducted into the Abilene Christian University (ACU) Sports Hall of Fame in May.

A 1972 graduate of ACU, Bradley was a four-year golf letterman and three-time ACU “Golfer of the Year.’’ His support of the university’s golf program has been instrumental in its rise to prominence over the last 20 years, university officials say. In addition, since 1978 Bradley has served as agent and personal accountant for golfing legend Byron Nelson, and has served as fundraising chairman for the annual Byron Nelson Golf Tournament. The tournament helps benefit the ACU golf program.

Bradley, who has 30 years of accounting experience, graduated from ACU with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and economics. He is a member of the Dallas Estate Planning Council, Dallas Family Violence Prevention Council, Salesmanship Club of Dallas, and National Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. He also is active in the Texas Society of CPAs and its Dallas chapter.

Since leaving ACU, Bradley has been an active supporter of golf in North Texas. He was vice chairman of the 1997 United States Golf Association (USGA) Mid-Amateur Championship, and is a member of the advisory board of the Northern Texas Section of the Professional Golfers Association (PGA). In 2003, Bradley was honored by the Northern Texas Section for his contributions to amateur golf.

Bradley is one of five former ACU athletes to be inducted into the ACU Sports Hall of Fame during the May ceremonies. Joining him will be Ove Johannson, Sylvia Dyer-Barnier, Don Conder, and Tom Teague.
