6/17/2005 - Weaver and Tidwell Merges with Brehm & Company to Better Serve Construction Industry
FORT WORTH, Texas - Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P., the Southwest's largest independent regional accounting firm, announces its merger with Brehm & Company, L.L.P., a Dallas CPA firm that focuses on serving the construction industry.
"The construction industry in North Texas is growing," said W.M. "Mack" Lawhon, Weaver and Tidwell's managing partner. "The strategy of combining our resources and existing capabilities with Brehm & Company's experience and client base will create tremendous synergy."
Founded by Marie K. Brehm in 1994, Brehm & Company has eleven employees including six CPAs and a growing client base of high-quality construction companies as well as not for profit organizations, medical service companies, manufacturers and distributors. Marie Brehm is joining Weaver and Tidwell as a Partner.
"Our existing clients will benefit by the availability of a wide variety of accounting and tax services," said Brehm. "Many of them will be able to take advantage of Weaver and Tidwell's experience in employee benefits and its financial advisory services."
The merger is a milestone in the history and growth of Weaver and Tidwell. Previous mergers undertaken by the Firm were designed to create the scale that has enabled the firm to compete successfully in the market. This merger is focused on enhancing the Firm's talent pool in a growing industry niche. Weaver and Tidwell's existing construction industry practice group that services a variety of construction related businesses enjoyed a 19% growth rate during the previous twelve months.

Brehm & Company employees are relocating from the firm's North Dallas location to Weaver and Tidwell's Dallas office at 12221 Merit Drive.
