DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Due to rapid growth and a series of mergers, Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P., the Southwest’s largest independent regional accounting firm, is currently expanding both its Dallas and Fort Worth offices.
Weaver and Tidwell’s existing lease includes 28,572 square feet in Three Forest Plaza located at 12221 Merit Drive in North Dallas near the intersection of 635/LBJ Freeway and Central Expressway. Its new lease renews the current space for 10 years and expands it by 12,773 square feet, bringing the total square footage of the firm’s Dallas office to 41,345. Weaver and Tidwell will occupy the entire 13 th and 14 th floors.
The Fort Worth office, located in the Cash America International Building at 1600 West Seventh Street near downtown, will expand by 4,555 square feet, growing from 21,082 square feet to 25,637 square feet.
Last year, Weaver and Tidwell executed two key mergers with Dallas-based boutique accounting firms – the first with Brehm & Company, L.L.P. in June and the second with Brown & Nelson, P.C. in September. Brehm focused on serving the construction industry while Brown & Nelson provided financial investigative services and litigation support for both corporate and legal clients.
The expansions will add conference rooms, a new training facility with state of the art multi-media capabilities and additional offices and cubicles for 40 people.
“We are very excited about the continued growth of our firm, our client roster, and our Metroplex offices,” said W.M. “Mack” Lawhon, Weaver and Tidwell’s managing partner. “Both offices are beautiful spaces that will gain much needed conference rooms and offices so that we can continue to do business in a comfortable, professional environment that meets all of our needs.”
Brenda Luskie, director of administrative services in Weaver and Tidwell’s Fort Worth office, and Kathy Billups, Dallas administration manager, are overseeing the firm’s expansion projects.
Founded in 1950, Weaver and Tidwell represents a broad range of clients including individuals, privately held businesses, nonprofit organizations, government entities, and large national and international corporations.
In addition to the firm’s audit, accounting, and tax services, its accountants practice in the areas of risk assessment and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance; provide consulting services in business valuation, estate planning/wealth transfer, information technology, forensic accounting, international consulting, state and local tax, property tax; and perform peer reviews for other accounting firms.
To meet the growing needs of its clients in the areas of employee benefits and financial planning, the firm has established two affiliate firms: WT Benefits, LLC, and Weaver and Tidwell Financial Advisors, Ltd.
