7/07/2005 - Weaver and Tidwell, LLP, Names Six New Partners
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Weaver and Tidwell, LLP, has named six new partners, it was announced today. With offices in Dallas and Fort Worth, Weaver and Tidwell is ranked by Practical Accountant magazine as the Southwest’s largest regional independent accounting firm.

“We’re very pleased to announce the promotion of Robert J. Loritz, Brad K. Jay, Andrew J. Freundlich, Clinton L. Siddons, Shawn M. Parker, and Bruce B. Zaret to partner,’’ said W.M. (Mack) Lawhon, managing partner and chief executive officer. “For 55 years, Weaver and Tidwell has provided the North Texas marketplace with superior accounting and consulting services. The process begins with a genuine commitment to close and personal service, an attitude exemplified daily by these six. We’re proud to name them as our newest partners.’’

All the new partners are certified public accountants.

Loritz , named Audit Partner, previously served as Audit Senior Manager at Weaver and Tidwell and has 12 years of public accounting experience. He has specific experience in servicing state and local government entities, public companies, financial institutions, employee benefit plans, nonprofit organizations, hedge funds and oil and gas entities. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance from Texas Christian University and is a recipient of the Elijah Watts Sells Award. Loritz is a member of Texas Society of Public Accountants (TSCPA) and American Institute of Certified Public Accountant (AICPA).

Jay, named Audit Partner, previously served as Audit Senior Manager at Weaver and Tidwell and has eleven years of public accounting experience, with specific experience serving manufacturers, wholesalers, public corporations, nonprofit organizations and state and local government entities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Abilene Christian University. Jay is a member of the Fort Worth Chapter of TSCPA and AICPA . He was a past member of the Camp Carter YMCA Board of Directors and also serves on the Finance Committee at North Davis Church of Christ.

Freundlich, named Audit Partner, previously served as an audit senior manager at Weaver and Tidwell and has more than 20 years of experience in audit, accounting and consulting with specific experience in manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, real estate, financial services and service industries. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting and master’s degree in business from Indiana University. Freundlich is a member of AICPA, TSCPA and the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors.

Siddons, named Tax Partner, previously served as a Tax Senior Manager at Weaver and Tidwell, has 11 years of experience in public accounting, with an emphasis on taxation. His areas of experience include corporations, partnerships, individuals, and tax-exempt entities. He has significant industry experience in the areas of construction, real estate, manufacturing, and agriculture. He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Texas Tech University. Siddons is a member of TSCPA and its Fort Worth chapter; AICPA; Associated General Contractors of Texas; and Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA).

Zaret, named Risk Assessment Sarbanes-Oxley partner, previously served as Senior Manager for the group. During his career, he has provided services to numerous industries, including banking, investment companies, insurance, oil and gas operations, manufacturing, and distribution. Zaret earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Illinois State University and has completed the financial management program at Stanford University’s Graduate School of Business. He is a member of TSCPA and its Dallas chapter, as well as AICPA. Zaret also serves on the board of the SEC Reporting Group, DFW and Houston Chapters. He is a previous winner of the Outstanding Young Men of America Award.

Parker, named Audit Partner, previously served as an Audit Senior Manager for Weaver and Tidwell, has more than 17 years of experience in public accounting, with an emphasis on auditing and accounting for closely held businesses in the real estate, construction, manufacturing, distribution and technology industries as well as nonprofit and state/local government entities. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration with emphasis in accounting from the University of Nebraska-Kearney. Parker is a member of AICPA; TSCPA and its Dallas chapter; Nebraska Society of Certified Public Accountants; and the special review committee of the Government Finance Officers Association.
