9/29/2006 - Weaver and Tidwell’s Jim Jordan Named to Board of Construction Financial Management Association
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS – James (Jim) R. Jordan, CPA, director of construction services for Weaver and Tidwell, LLP, has been named to the board of the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA). Jordan has long been recognized as a thought leader in his field and publishes regular columns on finance in both DFW Construction News and Texas Construction Magazine.

Founded in 1981, CFMA is a well-respected professional organization made up of financial professionals working in the construction industry. CFMA provides educational and networking opportunities for its members and publishes a number of magazines, newsletters and surveys focusing on specific industry issues.

Jordan has more than 30 years of accounting experience, including 20 years in the construction industry working with commercial, educational, industrial, public and residential projects. His previous employment as board member and chief financial officer for a major Dallas-Fort Worth construction company allows him to work effectively with both CEOs and CFOs of construction managers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in planning and reaching their financial objectives.

Jordan has served in leadership positions for a number of industry and community organizations including the Associated General Contractors of America, Construction Education Foundation of North Texas and Texas AGC Workers Comp Group, as well as the Cassatta Learning Center, Rotary Club and Thistle Hill in Fort Worth. He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Construction Financial Management Association and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Jordan earned a bachelor’s degree from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree in professional accounting from The University of Texas at Arlington.
