
10/27/2006 - Weaver and Tidwell Receives Greater Dallas Chamber’s Momentum Award
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P., the Southwest’s largest independent regional accounting firm, was awarded the Greater Dallas Chamber’s Momentum Award for local employment growth last night at the organization’s invitation-only awards ceremony. Former City of Dallas Mayor Ron Kirk emceed the event held at the Hotel Crescent Court in Dallas.
“In the last fiscal year, we grew our local workforce of financial professionals by 24 percent,” said W.M. “Mack” Lawhon, Weaver and Tidwell’s CEO and managing partner. “We now operate a robust Dallas office of 120 professionals and our Fort Worth headquarters employs 102. With a talented staff and excellent reputation, our business is thriving, and we are staffing to accommodate a growing client base of North Texas companies.”
Many of Weaver and Tidwell’s capabilities have also expanded – particularly in key service areas such as construction, forensics accounting services, international services, manufacturing, real estate and state and local tax services.

The Greater Dallas Chamber’s Momentum Awards, established in 2003, celebrate companies that have experienced job growth and are making a positive economic impact on the region. Award categories include community catalyst, community investor, corporate relocation and local growth, and within each category winners are designated by company size.
Other winners this year include: Capital One Bank, Citigroup, Inc., Countrywide Home Loans, DFW International Airport, Fluor Corporation, Hunt Consolidated, Skywire Software and T-Mobile USA. Certificates of merit were awarded to The Allen Group, Chase, Encore Wire, Ericsson, The MGHerring Group, Mouser Electronics, Precept Financial and Stryker.
