
11/29/2006 - Mary K. Thomas Joins Weaver and Tidwell as Director of International Services
DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Weaver and Tidwell LLP announces that Mary K. Thomas, CPA, has joined the firm as director of international services. With offices in Dallas and Fort Worth, Weaver and Tidwell is ranked by Practical Accountant magazine as the Southwest’s largest regional independent accounting firm.

Weaver and Tidwell assists companies that seek to grow internationally by providing sound international tax planning that is fully integrated with a “go global” strategy. The firm offers a broad range of global tax minimization and revenue enhancement services – such as global restructuring and refinancing strategies, cross-border transactional planning and management, and transfer pricing compliance, documentation and planning – as well as a spectrum of international services that includes planning techniques for structuring cross-border acquisitions, repatriation strategy for foreign earnings, and global tax planning for intangible property among many others.
Thomas has over 25 years of experience. She joins Weaver and Tidwell from Kinetic Concepts, Inc., where she served in positions including transfer pricing manager and director of international tax. She previously held senior positions with Ernst & Young LLP and the Internal Revenue Service. She earned both a bachelor’s degree in accounting and a master’s degree in taxation from University of Texas at San Antonio, as well as a law degree from Washington College of Law at American University in Washington, D.C.
She has served as a graduate adjunct professor at University of Texas at San Antonio and as the lead instructor for San Antonio’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program. Thomas has also published articles in the Journal of Taxation and Tax Management Inc.
Weaver and Tidwell has been designated a “Best Place to Work” in Dallas-Fort Worth by the Dallas Business Journal, and received a 2006 Momentum Award by the Dallas Chamber of Commerce for firm growth.
