01/08/2008 - Weaver and Tidwell’s James Jordan Named to the National Center for Construction Education and Research Board

DALLAS-FORT WORTH, TEXAS (January 8, 2008) – James R. Jordan, CPA, has been elected to the board of the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and will serve as treasurer. He is the director of Construction Services for Weaver and Tidwell L.L.P. ranked by Practical Accountant magazine as the Southwest’s largest regional independent accounting firm.

NCCER is an educational foundation created to help address the critical workforce shortage facing the construction industry and to develop industry-driven standardized craft training programs with portable credentials. The organization’s mission is to build a safe, productive, and sustainable workforce of craft professionals.

With more than 30 years experience in accounting, Jordan holds 20 years experience in the construction industry as a senior vice president, CFO and board member of a major construction company. He understands the daily pressures the construction industry faces, including the importance of maintaining a reputable workforce.

Associated with the construction industry, Jordan is a member and has served on the board of the following organizations: Construction Financial Management Association – Dallas/Fort Worth Chapter; the Fort Worth Chapter of Associated General Contractors; Quoin – the Dallas Chapter of Associated General contractors; Associated General Contractors of American, where he currently serves on the Tax and Fiscal Affairs Committee; Construction Education Foundation of North Texas and Texas AGC WorkComp Group. He is also a member of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Rotary Club of Fort Worth and is a past board member of Cassatta Learning Center and Thistle Hill.
