
2/1/2008 -Weaver and Tidwell’s Mark Lund Named to Partner-in-Charge of Construction Industry Services
Mark E. Lund, CPA, CCIFP, has been named partner-in-charge of Construction Industry Services for Weaver and Tidwell, L.L.P. He joined the firm in January 2007 through the firm’s merger with McDonald, Fox and Lund, P.C. With offices in Houston, Dallas and Fort Worth, Weaver and Tidwell is ranked by Practical Accountant magazine as the Southwest’s largest regional independent accounting firm.

Weaver and Tidwell’s Construction Industry Services group provides construction-related professional accounting, tax and consulting services based on years of education, advanced training and prior experiences. Services include surety consultation, sales and use-tax consultation, strategic planning, cash-flow analysis, selection and implementation of construction accounting software, litigation support and contract claims assistance, fraud investigations, construction tax planning and analysis, employee benefit plans and workers compensation consulting, owner succession, business valuations, bank consultation, operational reviews and assessments, internal control assessments, job cost systems design and consultation, benchmarking analysis, CFO/controller services, annual audits, reviews and compilations.
The construction industry segments serviced by the firm include general contractors, heavy highway contractors, specialty trade contractors, residential contractors, suppliers and sureties.
Lund serves as an audit partner with Weaver and Tidwell supporting the construction group’s clientele. In his new role as partner-in-charge of Construction Industry Services, he is responsible for the growth initiatives for the Construction niche.
He has more than 26 years experience in public accounting and was responsible for managing the firm’s Audit and Accounting practice at McDonald, Fox and Lund. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Texas A&M University, graduating Cum Laude, is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional and a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. Lund currently serves on the Construction Financial Management Association – Houston Chapter Board of Directors and was a member of the Accounting and Auditing Executive Committee of CPAmerica from 2000 to 2006, National Construction Industry Service Team for CPAmerica International in 2006, Continuing Professional Education Panel member, Internal Revenue Service Large and Mid-size Business Division – Natural Resources and Construction in 2001 and chaired the Construction Contractors Conference Committee of Texas Society of CPAs from 1996 to 1997.
