Richard Wiseman, a partner with Brown, Dean, Wiseman, Lister, Proctor & Hart, recently marked his 30th anniversary as an attorney with the respected 84-year-old Fort Worth law firm.
Since Wiseman is very active in the community, he announced this milestone to business associates, clients, and friends by contributing in their names to several worthwhile local charities.
Weaver and Tidwell received the announcement and wanted to do something particularly special for Wiseman, a loyal and valued client.
Jeanne Smith, Weaver and Tidwell tax partner and key liaison to Wiseman, sent him a basket of premium cookies and chocolates along with a congratulatory card.
Wiseman says that such a thoughtful and personal gesture, which took him by surprise in this instance, typifies the working relationship he’s had with Weaver and Tidwell for more than 25 years.
Wiseman, a specialist in construction litigation, was recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2004 and 2005, as a Top Attorney in Tarrant County by Fort Worth, Texas Magazine in 2002 through 2005, and as an Attorney of Excellence by the Fort Worth Business Press in 2003 through 2005, among many other accolades over the years.
But Wiseman has never forgotten how, when he first began his practice and his clientele was much smaller, he set out to engage a reputable, full-service accounting firm.
Even though Wiseman’s clients were small at the time, Weaver and Tidwell recognized the clients’ particular needs and saw their potential for growth, which has been borne out over the years.
Weaver and Tidwell stepped up, and a warm and personal, yet professional, relationship began. “I just can’t say enough good things about Weaver and Tidwell,” Wiseman remarks.
He says that when Weaver and Tidwell professionals came to his office, they rolled up their sleeves, learned what needed to be done, and began to take action. It became clear that Weaver and Tidwell would be a valuable part of Brown Dean’s team, always ready to accept challenges and tackle issues.
In one particularly deadline-sensitive situation several years ago, a client of Wiseman’s needed to form a nonprofit group quickly before the tax year was over. Explains Wiseman, “Sometimes this process can take three to six weeks, but Weaver and Tidwell accomplished it in less than a week.” The client, says Wiseman, was more than pleased, and he adds, “Weaver and Tidwell made me look good, which they always do.”
Not only does Weaver and Tidwell handle tax matters for the law firm but has also done Wiseman’s personal returns for the past 15 years. “My family and I have the utmost confidence in Weaver and Tidwell,” he says.
